Zieta’s Non-Windows at Rozbrat 44

Rozbrat 44, Warszawa

Rozbrat 44, 00-419 Warszawa

Oskar Zięta has unveiled his Non-Windows at Rozbrat 44 in Warsaw’s Powiśle district. The luxury apartments have been given a façade adorned with hypnotic art. Continuing the urban coherence of the historic part of the building, Oskar Zięta proposed Non-Windows — Tafla panels that, in the right light, seem to be… like windows.

The Non-Windows are hypnotic. Metal resembles glass. Across the canvas of the façade, the art of glass panes is painted. It is the sum of optical and technological interventions — all the Non-Windows were created using Zięta’s proprietary FiDU technology.

More alike windows than windows

Non-Windows is a project in which Zięta’s minimalism and architectural education have resulted in a form defined by precision, expression and originality. Installed on the façade of the building at Rozbrat 44, the rectangular Tafla panels are Zięta’s metal mirrors.

The art of Tafla windows

These are steel objects most commonly encountered indoors as Tafla Q. The Rozbrat façade offers an opportunity to observe how Zięta’s metal objects endure outdoors. His public sculptures, such as Nawa, Hempel and Whispers, consistently demonstrate that polished stainless steel performs remarkably well under changing weather conditions. The façade of Rozbrat 44 will be their next environmental test.

Art in architecture

The Rozbrat 44 development is another example of collaboration between an investor and an artist. It recalls the principle of Kunst am Bau promoted by Zięta — the idea of integrating art into architecture and construction, which in countries such as Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands provides for allocating between 0.5% and 2% of the total construction budget to artistic elements.

Art and design in metal

Zięta’s presence in the apartment building at Rozbrat 44 does not end at the façade. The foyer features a brutalist reception desk drawing directly from the Harmonica concept, which manifested itself in art as Whispers — first presented in London during LFA 2025. Its steel FiDU base enters into dialogue with a stone top. The lobby also features Echoes of Whispers coffee tables, continuing the idea behind the objects.
