Oskar Zięta: Whispers of the Forest. Reflections
30.09.2026 - 31.03.2027
Whispers of the Forest – Reflections is a multi-element installation by Oskar Zięta, integrated into the garden of Villa Sixta. A dozen or so bionic stainless-steel forms appear among the architecture, trees and lawns. Their organic, rounded silhouettes evoke monumental drops of water — at times almost disappearing into the greenery, at others emerging as striking spatial forms.
The organic forms of Whispers of the Forest emerge from a fascination with nature understood not as a motif, but as a system of geometries, processes and relationships. In FiDU technology, flat steel, hermetically welded along its edges, is formed through internal pressure. The resulting curves are the outcome of controlled deformation — a meeting of technology with the logic of organic forms.
Polished steel takes on images of its surroundings. Greenery, sky, trees and the architecture of Villa Sixta appear across the surfaces of the sculptures, changing with the light and the movement of the observer. The objects do not depict nature — they allow it to exist within their reflection. Their image remains transient, dependent on the moment, the weather and the point of view.
The installation is presented as part of the Polish Capital of Culture 2026 programme and will remain in the garden of Villa Sixta until spring 2027. It will then move to Katowice, continuing its dialogue with another place — the Polish Capital of Culture 2027.
Distributed among the trees, the objects have no single perspective. The viewer moves between them, and as their position changes, so does the image of the installation as a whole. Whispers of the Forest – Reflections does not hold the landscape still — it allows the landscape to pass through the sculpture.
