In 2026, the leading theme of A@W — “Reflection” — resonates particularly strongly with the light-reflecting, mirror-like surfaces of Zieta Studio’s polished steel objects. The organisers invite visitors to pause and look at architecture from multiple perspectives. The theme is not limited merely to the physical reflection of light on material surfaces, but refers above all to the thoughts and intentions accompanying every design decision.

Reflection is thought. A reflection is also a streak of reflected light. Oskar Zięta’s metal creations intertwine these two narratives in an interdisciplinary way. His manifesto-objects form an artistic, light-reflecting story about the potential of FiDU technology, fascination with material, and reflection on sustainable design.
As stated on the event website: “In this spirit, reflection becomes the foundation of innovation. It encourages us to consider how materials age, how buildings respond to nature, and how our choices influence the future of cities. Reflection is the moment of hesitation before adding something new to the world. It is a moment that allows us to avoid excess and focus on what truly matters. It reminds us that architecture has power not only when it stands out, but also when it listens, adapts, and respects its surroundings.”

As an innovator and architect-urbanist, Oskar Zięta will reflect on these issues, which are deeply connected to his design philosophy of “less is less” — continuous reduction, optimisation, and minimisation of process, materials, and energy. EXPO XXI will host Zięta’s steel manifestos, including the distinctive Zieta Lighting collection.
