As a continuation and development of the Zieta Illustrated project, the premiere illustrations by Paweł Mindler will be presented — a graphic interpretation of the Ultraleggera chair designed by Oskar Zięta.
This summer, theatrical spaces are becoming a unique stage for Zieta’s objects. Soon, the display case in the foyer of the Arlekin Puppet Theatre (Teatr Lalek Arlekin) in Łódź will turn into a story of steel deformations and the power of illustration. The official opening of the exhibition will take place on 26 September.

Paweł Mildner, whose illustrations will accompany the display of Zieta’s fairy-tale objects, is a visual artist specialising in illustration, graphic design, and art direction. He actively collaborates with brands like Bloomberg Businessweek, Penguin Random House, Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, The New York Times, Volkswagen, and WWF.
In the theatre’s display case, visitors will find the entire family of Ultraleggera objects. Zieta Studio icons such as the Plopp stool and the Rondo metal mirror will also be featured. These will be stories — or rather, inflated tales — truly theatrical in spirit: The Boy Who Didn’t Like Carrying Loads.
About The Boy Who Didn’t Like Carrying Loads

Once there was a little boy,
Heavy loads stole all his joy.

One grey morning, with no tunes,
He looked up high — and saw balloons!

A thought flashed by, quick as lightning flies,
He stretched his mind, like a caterpillar tries.

“Why press the metal, hard and flat?
Why not just puff it up like that?”
On steel sheets, he drew bold shapes,
Cut and coloured with no mistakes.

But soon another problem came:
“How to trap air inside a frame?”

He puffed and huffed until he turned quite red,
Then — aha! — A bike pump helped instead!

And so were born light mirrors, chairs, and tables,
Glowing in silver and bright neon fables!

The boy grew up, but still creates,
Drawing shapes that inflate — with wondrous fates!
