Following the successful and inspiring unveiling of the Whispers urban sculpture installation — created as part of the London Festival of Architecture’s “Voices” theme — the metal object, which formed part of a live performance and was collectively deformed by compressed air with the participation of the audience, has now found a new home. It has been moved to the engaged space of NLA – London’s built environment community, where it will remain on display until the end of September.

The Echoes were born from London’s Whispers — a project that, as it turned out, resonated far and wide. During the performative deformation of the main installation on Ludgate Hill in London, Zięta presented the first two Echoes — alternative expressions of the same form and the same process.

The first Echo, now exhibited at NLA in London, tells a linear story. A mirror that reflects the Whispers installation from Fleet Street Quarter, but along a different narrative line. The same amount of material, the same internal pressure — only the inlet for the air was positioned differently.
Because in the FiDU technology, even the smallest change is enough to make the object entirely different. To transform a whisper into a shout. To turn a cuboid into a circle. The Echo highlights both the ability to control the deformation process and the inherent unpredictability of it — a manifestation of the technological and aesthetic nuances within the broader Harmonica concept.
