Mirrors. Between Illusion and Reality
The Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw has inaugurated the temporary exhibition “Mirrors. Between Illusion and Reality.” This educational and immersive exhibition concept, through various prisms and reflections, introduces visitors to the mysteries and illusions of physics, mathematics, and human perception.
“By entering systems of symmetry, reflections, and infinite tunnels, you will immerse yourself in a world where the boundary between what is real and what is illusory becomes fluid.” – Copernicus Science Centre on the exhibition.
This immersive experience of reflections aligns perfectly with Oskar Zięta’s exploration of the power of polished steel surfaces. In collaboration with the Copernicus Science Centre, Zięta has created a dedicated installation that expands and develops the Crystals concept, already presented in other contexts.
Podczas wystawy „Lustra.
Zięta precyzyjnie spawa dwa płaskie arkusze blachy, by następnie powietrzem pod wysokim ciśnieniem zamienić formę płaską w trójwymiarową rzeźbę-lustro i wielki manifest technologiczny.
The exhibition was originally produced by Switzerland’s Technorama — one of the world’s leading science centres. At Copernicus, it has been enriched with the works of Oskar Zięta, who trained and deepened his expertise as an architect and engineer at ETH Zurich.
One of the exhibition partners at the Copernicus Science Centre is Samsung, with whom Zięta also collaborated on a project based on the Crystals concept. In 2024, Crystals The Frame — the result of this collaboration — was showcased at WOW!house in the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour
