This autumn in Warsaw, the Institute of Industrial Design hosts an extraordinary encounter with the metal constructions of Oskar Zięta. The exhibition reveals the potential of his proprietary FiDU technology – the process of free deformation with internal pressure – together with its ambitions and aspirations.

Constructions is a manifesto exhibition, showing how a passion for material and fascination with its potential give rise to objects that are simultaneously experiments, prototypes and sculptures. Large-scale, ultra-light construction solutions are presented here on an XS scale – as small yet monumental research objects. Functional, decorative, and above all manifesto objects, they embody years of study into material, its stabilisation and its architectural, utilitarian and sculptural possibilities.
The event, “Oskar Zięta. Constructions”, forms part of the calendar of Warsaw Home & Contract 2025, the annual celebration of design taking place in the Polish capital. Curated by Dr Paweł Jasiewicz, who examines Zięta’s work with the sensitive eye of a professional, the display of FiDU metal objects will be complemented by guest contributions: ceramics by Arkadiusz Szwed and works by Kacha Novak.
Everything begins with respect for the material – a passion for exploring and testing its potential. Oskar Zięta directs his relationship with metal towards optimisation and weight reduction while simultaneously maximising stability. Each project is the result of constructive thinking, which today the designer showcases in the form of supported horizontal planes: tables and pavilions, functional objects and metal prototypes of solutions ready for implementation in architecture.

Forms become a language of communication with the viewer, whose attentiveness will reveal the scope of Zięta’s interdisciplinary explorations – whether bionic, brutalist or parametric. These are metal constructions supported by profiles with precisely calculated force vectors, enabled by the possibilities of generative design. Resting on cylindrical, massive or organically twisting legs, they are tailor-made steel constructions that set a new standard for the design of the future: ultra-light, monomaterial and bespoke.
