“REFLECTIONS” of the sound
Reflections fascinate us. Reflections of light, of sound, of waves. This same curiosity is shared by the interdisciplinary team Sound Experience from Wrocław. The collaboration resulted in a unique event at the intersection of visual and sonic arts, held in autumn 2025, opening a new, futuristic path for experience and exploration.
The architecture of reflections
The key moment was the performative opening, built around the idea of “playing the reflections”. The artists did not merely emit sound — they sculpted it, controlling waves reflected from steel surfaces and consciously shaping the acoustic properties of the interior. Zieta Studio’s objects functioned as precisely calibrated sound reflectors. Metal became a co-creator of the composition.
Space as an instrument
REFLECTIONS was an eight-day immersive experience during which the Sound Experience showroom became a laboratory of perception. Over 20 objects by Zieta Studio formed an installation — not as a static display, but as an active acoustic structure. Steel forms were suspended in space like membranes, poised to resonate. Design became a sonic tool.
Light in resonance
Laser shows completed the installation. Beams traced luminous trajectories across the steel surfaces. Reflections and refractions emphasised the rhythm of the composition, visualising what usually remains invisible — the energy of the wave. Reflection became the shared language of light and sound, of physics and emotion.
A new topography of listening
The event was realised using the immersive L-ISA system by L-Acoustics — a technology that engages the human ability to localise the direction of sound in space. As a result, sound gained orientation, depth and movement. It was no longer a flat wave, but a dynamic architecture travelling between objects and listeners. The experience redefined the very act of listening.
The opening featured performances by Gerard Lebik and Tomasz Bednarczyk — artists working with the subtle matter of sound and silence. Their compositions did not dominate the space but entered into dialogue with it. Every sound was a response, and every response another reflection.
Sound and design as experience
REFLECTIONS was an exceptional event, merging futuristic sound technology with experimental design. The performative opening inaugurated a week-long exhibition in which Zieta Studio’s objects operated simultaneously as sculptures and acoustic instruments. It was a project about conscious listening and conscious design. About crossing the boundary between form and function. About the moment when steel not only reflects light — but begins to reflect sound, and with it, our own experience of space.
