The Big Egg Hunt 2025 transforms London into an open-air art gallery, as over 100 large-scale egg sculptures take over the city. This year, Jajo FiDU by Oskar Zięta joins the Elephant Family initiative—an ultralight, monomaterial egg filled with air and imbued with the spirit of Polish tradition.

A steel canvas for art and support
Its intricate engravings draw inspiration from historic Polish folk ornaments, particularly the geometric and floral motifs of Łowicz and the delicate scratchwork of Opole designs. Merging heritage with innovation, the egg also features the symbol of the elephant—an emblem of wisdom and strength—underscoring its altruistic purpose. This artistic tribute supports the vital conservation efforts of the Elephant Family, making it not only a striking piece of design but also a symbol of meaningful change.
The Big Artists behind the Big Eggs
No discussion of the Big Egg Hunt would be complete without mentioning its record-breaking auctions. In 2014, an egg designed by Jeff Koons fetched an astonishing $360,000 at a New York auction. Other renowned artists who have contributed to the event include Tracey Emin, Marc Quinn, Zaha Hadid, Ronnie Wood, Peter Beard, Diane von Furstenberg, Bruce Weber, and Julian Schnabel.
A unique charity with Royal patronage
The Big Egg Hunt in London is curated by Elephant Family, a charity founded in 2002 by the late Mark Shand to combat the extinction of elephants worldwide. To date, they have raised over £10 million through public art events and continue to strive for greater impact. Notably, Elephant Family holds the rare distinction of having both Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla as Joint Royal Presidents.
